Fugitive contractor wanted for fraud

Calgary police are requesting the public’s help to locate a 35-year-old man wanted on multiple outstanding warrants for fraud and money laundering tied to alleged fake construction contracts dating back to late 2024.

Investigators allege the suspect who also operates online under the alias Mitch Ryan—defrauded clients through services advertised on social media. He operated under unregistered business names, including Silverado Lawn and Snow and The Deck Experts, neither of which are officially registered in Alberta.

The charges stem from multiple reported incidents involving uncompleted work and withheld deposits. In December 2024, a client connected with the suspect via Facebook Marketplace to construct a sauna, agreeing on a $2,730 price tag and transferring a 50 percent deposit. After visiting the home to take measurements, the suspect informed the client in January 2025 that he could no longer complete the job and promised a full refund, but the victim never received the money and lost all communication. In another incident in May 2025, a victim hired him through a Facebook advertisement for a $6,500 home renovation project and e-transferred a deposit of $3,412.50. The suspect delivered some materials to the home but continually delayed starting the job, eventually refusing a refund and sending aggressive text messages when pressed.

Police have been unable to locate the contractor and suspect there may be additional victims who have not yet reported their experiences. The suspect is described as 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 185 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He is believed to be driving a 2008 Ford F-150 pickup truck with Alberta licence plate CWH4036.
