Massive Narcotics Seizure
Calgary police officers seized over $350,000 worth of illegal drugs and cash during a targeted drug trafficking operation in Calgary.
Specialized units launched Operation Guardian on Sept. 23, 2026, to combat rising drug and firearms activity throughout the city.
The intelligence-led initiative resulted in five arrests and seventeen criminal charges against several suspect dealers.
Data-Driven Police Strategy
The Organized Crime Enforcement Unit collaborated directly with intelligence analysts to build the targeted crime-reduction framework.
Analysts used advanced mapping software and crime statistics to identify emerging criminal hot spots across local neighborhoods.
Enforcement officers were deployed directly to these high-density sectors to disrupt illegal activities and gather street-level intelligence.
Significant Enforcement Results
The intelligence-led strategy yielded rapid operational results across multiple quadrants of the city.
Officers conducted 67 targeted traffic stops, which successfully launched four separate narcotics distribution investigations.
Police seized 3.18 kilograms of bulk fentanyl, 701 individual fentanyl pills, and over 240 grams of cocaine.
Officers also confiscated more than $12,000 in cash earned through illegal drug sales.
Criminal Charges Laid
Authorities have charged four adult men and a 15-year-old female youth in connection with the seizures.
Police charged a 34-year-old male with drug trafficking, obstructing a peace officer, and radio apparatus violations.
Officers charged three other men with drug trafficking and possessing crime proceeds.
Police also charged a 15-year-old girl under the Youth Criminal Justice Act with drug trafficking offenses.
Ongoing Investigation Efforts
A recent structural realignment within the Organized Crime Section enabled this coordinated resource deployment across municipal sectors.
Scheduled court appearances for all five accused individuals span from late October to mid-November 2026.
Proactive enforcement patrols under Operation Guardian remain active, and police encourage residents to submit tips to Crime Stoppers.
Suspects names and other information can be found on the police site.
