Citywide crackdown: joint blitz leads to 15 arrests and 51 warrants!

A joint warrant enforcement operation between the Calgary Police Service and Alberta Sheriffs has resulted in 15 arrests and the execution of 51 outstanding warrants.

The recent two-day blitz brought together members of the District 2 Patrol and Patrol Support Teams and the Fugitive Apprehension Sheriff Support Team, FASST.

The initiative focused on locating wanted individuals, improving public safety and furthering investigations.

Officers spent weeks planning the sweep. Analysts reviewed roughly 120 target profiles before deploying teams into neighborhoods.

During the crackdown, officers visited 66 separate residences. The operation executed 51 outstanding warrants, including one Canada-wide warrant.

In addition to the arrests, police laid five new criminal charges and opened 34 active investigations.

“Focused enforcement initiatives like this allow us to dedicate resources to locating individuals who have outstanding warrants and may otherwise be difficult to find through routine policing activities. This operation also demonstrates what can be achieved when agencies combine their knowledge, resources and specialized expertise to improve public safety ” said Inspector Jeff Pennoyer.

Teams also collected fresh intelligence, confirmed addresses, and updated criminal records to guide future enforcement efforts.
