A three-month investigation which was launched by the District Operations Team (DOT) after two overdose deaths has led to the arrest of two individuals. Police have also seized cash, drugs and firearms, worth more than $88,000.
The District Operations Team (DOT) from District 8 started the investigation in June 2026, after a suspected drug trafficker was identified following the deaths of two individuals due to a drug overdose.
On Monday, August 31, 2026, officers arrested the primary suspect after observing suspicious activity consistent with drug trafficking. Following the arrests, police executed search warrants at an Auburn Bay residence in the 200 block of Autumn Green S.E. and a secondary property in the 14400 block of Mount McKenzie Drive S.E. in McKenzie Lake.
While preparing to enter the Auburn Bay residence, officers intercepted a woman attempting to remove evidence from the home and took her into custody.
During the execution of the search warrants across both locations, investigators recovered $46,640 in Canadian currency, $180 in U.S. funds, one rifle, two shotguns, six magazines, and 148 rounds of ammunition. Officers also seized nearly 2,000 grams of cocaine valued at $19,801, 570 grams of psilocybin valued at $11,394, 208 grams of methamphetamine valued at $4,154, and various prescription pills including codeine, Adderall, LSD, and morphine. Additional items recovered included 6,200 illegal cigarettes, digital scales, vacuum sealers, packaging materials, electronic devices, and 11 kilograms of an unidentified bulk powder currently undergoing chemical laboratory analysis.
Ryan Allan Sinclair, 34, has been charged with 10 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, alongside charges for fraud over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime, careless storage of a firearm, and unsafe storage of ammunition. He remains remanded in custody.
Brigitte Conchita Peters-Palma, 34, has been charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. Both accused are scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
“This investigation removed a substantial quantity of illicit drugs from our community and disrupted drug trafficking activity,” stated District 8 Inspector Darry Midtdal. “The seizure of firearms alongside these drugs highlights the serious public safety risks that can accompany the drug trade.”
