Local patrol officers arrested two men following a major Calgary police Braeside drug trafficking raid in the city’s southwest community.
District 6 patrol members originally launched an investigation in July 2026. The probe began immediately after alert neighbors reported suspicious activity around the neighborhood.
Following a thorough three-month undercover investigation, tactical officers moved forward with enforcement action. Teams executed a search warrant on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, at a residence located along the 200 block of Brookpark Drive S.W.
The search yielded substantial evidence of an active drug operation operating directly out of the home. Officers confiscated approximately 553.7 grams of suspected fentanyl. Police estimate the total street value of the recovered opioids at roughly $40,000.
In addition to the illicit narcotics, officers uncovered a significant stash of weapons and specialized tactical gear inside the home. Investigators seized a KelTec Sub-2000 rifle equipped with a loaded 25-round prohibited high-capacity magazine.
Furthermore, search teams recovered a Springfield XD .45-calibre handgun featuring a defaced serial number. Additional 9mm ammunition, digital drug scales, suspected cutting agents, multiple electronic devices, and $8,195 in combined Canadian and U.S. cash were also taken into evidence as proceeds of crime.
As a result of the raid, police arrested two men on site. Officers laid 34 combined criminal charges against a 26-year-old male and a 57-year old-male.
The long list of offenses includes drug trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, careless storage of firearms, unauthorized weapon possession, and possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number. Both men also face multiple counts of possessing a controlled substance contrary to prior prohibition orders.
The 57 old man remains in custody and will make his next court appearance on Friday, Oct. 9, 2026. Meanwhile, the 26 year old man is scheduled to appear before a judge on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026.
Police encourage any residents who observe suspicious or drug-related activity in their neighborhood to report it immediately. Tips can be submitted directly to Calgary Police at 403-266-1234 or anonymously via Crime Stoppers.
