What started as a quiet June evening quickly escalated into a nightmare for local business owners and workers.
In the span of just over an hour on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, a trio of armed suspects went on a crime spree.
At approximately 9:00 p.m., three masked suspects entered Carrie’s VIP Body Care, located at #7A, 2016 25 Ave. N.E., with one individual brandishing a firearm. Quick-thinking occupants inside the business fled to a back room, locked themselves in. They then called police without confronting the intruders. The suspects fled empty-handed in a stolen black Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Just over an hour later, at approximately 10:20 p.m., the same three suspects struck Bud Mart, located at 20 Copperpond Passage S.E.
Armed with a firearm, the group turned violent. They threatened and physically assaulted an employee and a customer before fleeing the store with stolen cash and cannabis products.
Police launched an investigation into the robberies. On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, officers recovered the stolen black Jeep Grand Cherokee abandoned in the southwest community of Woodbine. Key evidence recovered inside the vehicle allowed investigators to identify a suspect.
On Tuesday, October 6, 2026, officers located and arrested the primary suspect at a home in Saddle Ridge. The following day, police executed a search warrant at the residence, seizing a cellphone, ammunition, and a loaded handgun.
A 17-year-old male is now facing a list of charges, including two counts of robbery with a restricted or prohibited firearm, one count of pointing a firearm, two counts of disguise with intent, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, one count of possession of stolen property over $5,000, and three counts of failure to comply.
Further charges remain pending, and the youth is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. Under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the suspect cannot be identified publicly.

The second suspect is described as a male aged 16 to 18 years old. He was last seen wearing a face mask, a black sweatsuit, and black running shoes.
