Arts, music, food, and local heritage will take center stage across Alberta this September as the province launches its annual, month-long Alberta Culture Days celebration.
The festivities offer free, family-friendly events designed to highlight local artists, cultural traditions, and creative communities in both large urban centers and small towns. To support the programming, the provincial government is investing $380,000 across 120 community organizations.
Alberta Culture Days continues to build on significant public engagement, following last year’s milestone attendance of nearly 240,000 residents. The initiative aims to drive tourism, support local non-profits, and celebrate the province’s diverse heritage.
“Alberta Culture Days brings communities together to celebrate the people, traditions and stories that define who we are as Albertans,” said Tanya Fir, Minister of Arts, Culture and Status of Women. “I encourage everyone to get out, support local artists and experience the culture and creativity that make Alberta such a special place to call home.”
Feature Celebration Sites
Five key organizations have been designated as feature celebration sites, hosting three full days of specialized programming:

“Alberta Culture Days is a wonderful opportunity for arts and culture to shine across Wood Buffalo,” said Liana Wheeldon, executive director of Arts Council Wood Buffalo. “As a feature celebration site, Arts Council Wood Buffalo is proud to help create opportunities for people to experience that creativity, connect with one another and celebrate the culture that makes our region a place to call home.”
Free Museum & Historic Site Access
As an added highlight to the month’s festivities, the province announced that Albertans will receive free admission to 20 provincially owned museums, historic sites, and archives on Saturday, Sept. 26, and Sunday, Sept. 27.
