The Calgary Police Service is inviting local families and residents to gather for an afternoon of community connection, entertainment, and interactive learning during the upcoming “Picnic with the Police” event.
Scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the free public gathering will take place at Stanley Park, located at 330 42 Avenue S.W. The initiative offers community members an open environment to engage directly with local officers and gain a closer look at policing operations across the city.
Attendees can enjoy a wide array of complimentary family activities throughout the afternoon, including free food, live music, face painting, a dedicated craft station, and sports activities such as laser relays.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to interact with specialized Calgary Police Service units, including officers from the Mounted Patrol Unit and the Bike Team. Children in attendance can explore marked police cruisers on site, while live drone demonstrations will showcase how modern technology supports day-to-day law enforcement operations.
In addition to the planned festivities, organizers are encouraging attending families to participate in a community book swap by bringing a gently used book to exchange for a new title to take home.
