Calgary police shattered records by seizing over $8.8 million in cash and drugs during a massive law enforcement operation.
Officers charged four men after dismantling a major intercity supply chain operating across Calgary and Edmonton.
The multi-agency investigation started in June 2026. Members of the Calgary Police Service Drug Unit identified a single house connected to active drug trafficking. As a result of the investigation, detectives uncovered a sophisticated network distributing dangerous substances across Alberta.
On October 8, 2026, officers executed nine search warrants across five residences in Calgary and Cochrane. The coordinated raids yielded one of the largest property and narcotics seizures in the history of the Calgary Police Service.
Police confiscated $6.8 million worth of illicit substances during the searches. The haul included large quantities of cocaine, MDMA, methamphetamine, ketamine, prescription pills, and 1.6 kilograms of lethal fentanyl. Investigators also recovered more than $2 million in Canadian and U.S. currency.

Investigators revealed that the illicit network relied on international supply chains. Police believe large portions of the seized cocaine originated from Colombia before entering Canada.
Police leadership stressed that removing 1.6 kilograms of pure fentanyl prevented countless potential overdoses across the province. A microscopic amount of fentanyl can prove fatal, making this massive seizure a life-saving success for the entire region.
Executing an investigation of this scale required extensive inter-agency teamwork. Sixteen specialized units within the Calgary Police Service joined forces with the Edmonton Police Service, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and the Canada Border Services Agency.
Police officials confirmed that proper resourcing and specialized training made this historic bust possible. Police officers reiterated that removing these dangerous substances breaks up criminal syndicates and keeps local neighborhoods safe from dangerous street activity.
