Homicide detectives are investigating a suspicious death, after a body was discovered inside a home following a house fire in the northeast community of Tuxedo Park on Thursday afternoon.
Calgary Fire Department crews were responding to a residential fire in the 200 block of 27 Avenue N.E. around 12:40 p.m. on Aug. 27, 2026, when firefighters discovered the victim inside the residence. The fire department immediately contacted the Calgary Police Service who started their investigation.
Members of the CPS Homicide Unit and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner responded to the scene and determined the death to be suspicious after the initial investigation. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 28, 2026, to determine the cause of death and to help identify the victim.
