Following an autopsy, police have identified the victim of a suspicious death which took place in the wee hours of Sunday morning, August 30 as Harjas Ahluwalia.
On Sunday morning, the homicide Unit was called to the scene of the incident which took place at 1100 block of Cornerstone Boulevard N.E. at about 12: 55 a.m. upon receiving reports of shots being fired.
Upon arrival, officers located the man, who was found deceased at the scene of the fatal shooting. Police suspected the shooting to be a targeted attack.
An autopsy which was completed yesterday, Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026 was conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, who have deemed the death a homicide.
No one is in custody at this time; however, the shooting is believed to be targeted, and the investigation remains ongoing.
